Fall 2010 Trend: Sequins

Looking through my closet, I feel like I’m missing something. Now, I have the blazers, the boots, the scarfs, and all things that scream “Autumn’s Here!” but my fall wardrobe is definitely missing a “dazzling” kick. One word: sequins. Top designers like Pucci, Marc Jacobs, Mulberry, Vera Wang, Balmain and plenty more made the runways sparkle and light up with hot sequined skirts, leggings, dresses and pumps. Amp your closet up with some shimmer and shine this fall.

Sequins can be easy to integrate into daily casual wear. Opt for simple pieces like sequined hats, flats, or vests like in the two outfits featured above, to have that brilliant gleam even on simple days when going to class or to the mall.

When going out, turn the lights up by making your sequined tops or bottoms the center of your outfits attention. Mix and match, and really take the glitz and glam to another level.

i was wondering if you lost sleep too.

one restless night i wondered if you lost sleep too

trying to figure me out like i try to figure out you

but you don’t. you sleep like a baby.

well…isn’t that nice?

I can never tell if we had chemistry or not

I’ve always hated science.

But, hey, you continue to sleep tight as I do these logarithms in my head

Conducting experiments, wishing, hoping to understand

Why I’m constantly losing sleep alone…?

dalai lama's 18 rules for living.

He just came to my friend’s school. I am jealous.

  1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
  2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
  3. Follow the three Rs:
    1. Respect for self
    2. Respect for others
    3. Responsibility for all your actions.
  4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
  5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
  6. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
  7. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
  8. Spend some time alone every day.
  9. Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
  10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
  11. Live a good, honourable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.
  12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
  13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.
  14. Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.
  15. Be gentle with the earth.
  16. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
  17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
  18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

there's this thing called consistency...

gossips brewing like black coffee or sweet tea, sweetie. people had a li’l hunch, hun, had a tingling feeling we were some spring fling floating.

& as detached as I try to be, I am easily turned to velcro after constant considering, pushing, forcing to have that open-minded kiss with fate.

but if you have no desire to stick around… :)

if you gwan push: push. if you gwan pull, away: peace.

:) t’is easy, that thing called consistency.

how i'm feelin' 'bout feelings.

I missed the days when emotions were consistent waves of feelings that were predictable, understandable, and compatible. When I got candy, I’d smile. When I got food, I’d eat. When I fell, I’d cry. Simple.

Feelings now are tainted with too many emotional heart strings that get pulled up and down like marionettes. Sentiments get tugged & yanked, like a game of rope-war, then suddenly, are sent spiraling down and shooting upwards like a rollercoaster ride. & though puppets are fun, tug-o-war is amusing, and rollercoasters are exhilarating: these feelings are none of those. They are pitiful, annoying, and in-the-way. Feelings are never neutral, either. They mirror the extremities of flames & ice & rain. Always.

I want to go back to days when things were simple. When feelings were cemented in actual actions and only actions; I didn’t think too deep, for I was naive and ignorant and innocent. Because this knowledge drives me closer towards crazy than anything. When I was naive, I didn’t persecute without reason, judge without verdict, and accuse without understanding. I focused on myself, I was a selfish little thing, but through that selfishness I didn’t bother myself with anyone else’s troubles. I didn’t indulge in sweet temptations that weren’t cookies cakes & unhealthy fried things. I was open minded, questioning, & openly learned. I need to find that internal Ubermensch again.

Now I strive for complication.
